The Beginning

Dastardly and Hardly volunteered to set trail to honour two causes, Ground Hog Day and Lay’em in Snow Memorial Run (hence Brown Dog Day). Ends up being a very long run title. Lay’em in Snow was a long term hasher who passed away recently (3 years ago). He was know for having some sort of brown dog (Luna). He is in our thoughts.

The run started near the trendy neighbourhoods of Forest Lawn and Radisson Heights. With a surprising number of parks and schools, the set the stage for multiple playground opportunities.

A fine location to start a run from

The group assembled in the parking lot ready for the run start.

Let’s get this circle organized

Camshaft ran the circle and went through the announcements and introductions.

Sort of a circle
Camshaft in action!

The hares were called into the circle to describe the marks.

With the mark fully described, the pack was released to find the true trail. There were multiple Eagle/Turkey splits as well of multiple playgrounds.

The Trail

Off go the runners looking for marks. After some confusion, the true trail was found.

A bit slippery

The trail continued to meander through the back alleys and eventually we found the regroup vehicle.

Back to the bar to get set up for the down down’s.

Getting comfortable to get food and drinks ordered!

The Down Downs

Twisty was the Religious Advisor for the evening. She prepared here program and got ready to deliver to the unruly crowd.

Twisty ready

A choir of Skewbic Hair and Hump the Shark were volunteered to be the choir.

Why were we born so beautiful?…. or Ear Beer Rear?

With the program complete, we were declared “on the piss”.
