The Beginning

Tighty Whitey set trail in late September the from Marshall Springs parking lot of Fish Creek Park. Good maps were necessary to ensure that we knew how to get there, as it was on the South side of Fish Creek with access from Evergreen SW.

Darkness is becoming a thing at this time of year, so headlights were recommended. The group assembled at the start point and basked in the last rays of sunshine prior to the arrival of twilight.

The group prepared for the run and waited patiently for the run to start, and formed something that looks like a circle.

Insane Bolt ran the circle and went through the announcements and introductions.

The hare was called into the circle to describe the marks for the evening trail.

With the marks described, the pack was released into the wilderness to experience the transition into darkness.

The Trail

Out of the parking lot, we found marks leading to a long downhill descent into the depth of Fish Creek.

Post playground viewpoints. The Fish Creek valley framed by the mountains in the distance.

Eventually, the parking lot was found and suitable refreshments were enjoyed.

Outside down down’s were planned. AS such, many chairs appeared to secure our portion of the parking lot.

The group prepared for the down down’s while enjoying suitable refreshments and marshmellow’s.

The Down Downs

Booty Camp was the Religious Advisor for the evening. She made notes of any transgressions on the run, and prepared to deliver her story!

A choir was selected. Slippy Thong and Insane Bolt stepped up to sing us the songs.

First up for down down’s was Skewbic Hair, who was called out for promoting “non hash” events in the circle, by promoting the Ski Calgary Group Halloween Social on October 29 2026.

Booty Camp then called up a series of offenders to be rewarded with down downs for their behavior.

As the evening program wound down, it was time to find a Religious Advisor for the next week. Thankfully Tighty Whitey accepted the challenge and was rewarded with a down down, and we were declared “on the piss”.

The group headed out of the Marshall Springs parking lot to find Rip’s Pub in Millrise for the continued celebration.

Trail Summary

Quality over quantity. A find trail through the forest in Fish Creek in the twilight heading to darkness. Close to the beavers and the deer, but no one was left behind.

Those that wanted extra distance continued to record progress to the pub while driving.
