As we are now past labour day, who knows what the weather will be like. It could be summer or winter, sunny or raining, but the darkness is starting to appear near the end of the run.
Headlights start to become a thing at this time of year, so remember that. Hot Cheeks decided it time to introduce Swollen Member to the art of haring a run. These are skills that he can use in all aspects of his happy life.
After a bit of adjusting the start location, Local 403 Pub in Canyon Meadows SW was selected as the start location. Access to Fish Creek was important for the success of this run.
The group arrived at the pub and prepared for the fine trail that had been planned for them to follow.

It was time to head out to the parking lot circle up. A good turnout of over 20 hashers was encouraging to see.

The Trail
Leaving the parking lot, the pack spread out to find the marks for true trail. A few false trails were explored prior to finding the good marks. Apparently, some of the marks were a little thin from the recent rain, making finding the trail a bit more challenging.

After enjoying the refreshments and the munchies, the pack headed into the pub to prepare for the down down’s, and some sort of spinning wheel distraction.

The group settled into the pub and figured out that they could get a fantastic deal on a hamburger, with a full pint beer, and the opportunity to spin the wheel, and delay the start of the down downs.
Down Down’s
Eventually, the thrill of the spinning wheel was over. The patient Religious Advisor, Skewbic Hair, now had the attention of the group.
A choir of Tighty Whitey and Scissor Sister was chosen and the program began.

Trail Summary
An adventurous trail of some 6 km was enjoyed by the pack. Fine trail set by the veteran Hot Cheeks and the new hare Swollen Member.
At a moment of weakness, Hot Cheeks and Slippy Thong were prepared to embrace the spring weather and set a run from the winds of Bebo Grove in Fish Creek Provincial Park. Sounded like a great plan as it has been sunny and mild for weeks. Park run with outdoor down down’s. A utopian vision.
As spring weather is also variable, a large dump of snow changed the plan. Plan B is the set trail from a warm pub in Woodbine SW, but include some of the Fish Creek trails which were now snow covered. Strapon ice cleats highly recommended.
The pack gathered in a non descript pub in the the SW, in the community of Woodbine (Woodlands). Suitably dodgy in appearance, it seemed well suited to host the hash.

The pack gathered and found suitable seating while the big screen showed some kind of hockey match featuring the loosing local team.

Insane Bolt declared that it was time to head outside in the daylight and circle up.
Circle up!
A reasonable turn out given the somewhat not so nice weather. If you were dressed for winter, the spring run would be “just fine”.
Insane Bolt went through the announcements and introductions. Called in the new person, Just Stephen, into the circle so we could introduce ourselves.

The Down Down’s
The previous week, Insane Bolt volunteered to the the Religious Advisor (RA) for the down down ceremonies. As such, he has had a week to think about and prepare material.

Trail Summary
Looks like 6 – 7 km of trail were enjoyed by some. Excellent effort setting trail in crappy weather for the group to enjoy. Our introduction to Fish Creek trail was a fun time.
Hash Extra
Because we can, we are seeing what AI can do for the trail. So far…. interesting.
