Surprisingly Uphill!

The Beginning

We were pleased when Mr. PeeeeeNut volunteered to set trail. He chose an obscure starting point referred to as the Silver Springs Boardwalk. With exacting precision, google maps pointed to a parking lot with limited spaces.

The pack arrived and Dastardly was prepared with Jello shots. The weather was good and a good number of hashers showed up.

The group started to form something like an elongated oval that could pass for a stretchy circle.

The Trail

Off to the north along the sidewalks, until we found the key marks that directed us into the dirt trails in the ravine.

Through the pathways and parks, eventually the trail arrived at the regroup vehicle.

With the beverages prepared, it was time for Twisty to do the Religious Advisor duties.

Twisty started by choosing the choir. King Shit and Shakesbeer were selected and sang themselves a song.

And then it was time for the milestone award. Camshaft has completed 400 run and gets to hold on to a lovely large trophy until the next hasher makes the mark. A half yard of beer is a suitable recognition.

To finish off, it was time to convince someone to be the RA for next week. With his half yard done, Camshaft was receptive and said he would do it.

New Years Lights?

The Beginning

For the first regular Monday night hash run of 2026, Mr. PeeeeeNut volunteered to set trail. We are thankful that we had a volunteer to kick off the greatest hash season of 2026.

Mr. PeeeeeNut chose Moose’s Beanery & Bar for the run location. This is a great place to host the hash with a large room at the back and great prices on beer and food.

A short walk back to the bar, the group settled in for an evening of eating, drinking and socializing.

The Down Down’s

Hardly volunteered to be the Religious Advisor (RA) for the evening. He prepared his material and the beer gatherer sourced the down down beers.

Trail Summary

A great trail through the Triwood area of around 6 km with some great views and interesting terrain. Footing was a bit icy and it was cool (-12 C). Fun rom through the streets, alleys and pathways!

The Beginning

Mr. Peeeeenut has relocated to Calgary and was eager to set trail for his new favourite hashing group. After some debate and discussion, it was settled that Moose’s Beanery & Bar Room for a start point.

Coincidentally, it was Christmas Lights time! Thus, there were extra things to enjoy and take in on this trail, and we thank Mr. Peeeeenut for setting a great trail.

Moose’s has a great room for the hash in the back of their fine establishment for hashers to gather prior to the run.

The Trail

Off we went looking for marks. Some sketchy busy street crossings lead us to the true trail. The pack industriously followed the marks to some level of success.
