The Beginning
Halloween is an interesting time of the year. For the hashing bunch, it provides an opportunity to find your best costume and dress up. For some, it is just finding what you wore for last years event and recycle it!
The run was set from The Pointe Public House in Oakridge SW. Previously known as the Point and Feather, this was a hash friendly venue in the past. Now gentrified, we were pleased to see that they had improved their patio offering, providing a hash friendly space!
Now that darkness is a feature of the start of the hash run, the group arrived in costume and assembled in front of the pub.
Much chatting and socializing prior to circling up. An eclectic mix of fashion was on display.
Insane Bolt ran the circle going through the announcements and the introductions.
The hares were called into the circle to describe the marks for the trail.
With the marks described, the pack was released.
The Trail
Out of the parking lot, the trail headed into the wilds of Oakridge and Palliser SW. Some of us that were walking paid attention to the quality of the Halloween decorations that could be seen in the neighbourhood.
Eventually, we found the regroup and there was much rejoicing.
Back to the pub to settle in to the fine covered heated patio.
As refreshments appeared and were enjoyed in anticipation of the down downs starting.
The Down Downs
With the beverages organized, it was time for Hump the Shark to start the down downs.
A choir was selected. Insane Bolt and Cock Tale stepped forward to sing the songs.
Hump the Shark declared the group “on the piss”.
The group refocused on eating and drinking now that the down downs were done. A fine Halloween run.

Trail Summary
A 6 km romp through the neighbourhoods or Oakridge, Palliser, Pump Hill and Bayview. There was a secret Shot Stop at an address in Bayview well known to the scribe.
Gargoyle house, Halloween decorations, special stop and reservoir views made this trail Epic.
